I don’t know you
Yet I love you

You’ve walked in all my dreams
Your footprints leave a memory
Of images half seen
A wistfulness on waking
A sense of something lost
But you weren’t mine to start with
All that’s lost is my own mind
The photo’s on my windowsill
Vanish in the light
Your whispers are an open window
In the silent night
No footsteps tread beside me
Just the beating of my heart
All the moments spent together
Just a timeless work of art
No one knows you
Yet I love you
You only walk in dreams
Our footsteps leave sweet memories
In places never seen
A knowledge in half-waking
A sense of something found
In the chaos of reality

The hand that helped me drown

I’m full of dreams
Of thoughts
Of memories that haven’t happened

Gracefully

I build a web
To hide behind
Of words unsaid
To keep me safe from those who pry
And if they tried
To break the fragile threads
Instead they’d find
A wall so thick
Of shattered lies
And dead

Desires

I’m full of longing
Of need
For a life that isn’t mine

I’m lonely
In my cell
I built from photographs
The window only goes one way
I see through crystal glass
And I’m the only one
On an island of shadows
A ghost
Invisible
With so many others
I feel their eyes
Searching
We all know the pain
But my hands are grasping empty

We’ve already run away

I walk across
The shattered shards of
Reality
That cut the soles
Of those
Whose minds are smothered in illusion
Leaving scars
Unseen
By blinded eyes
That only see
The world inside their head
All rounded corners
And dull knives
Dull
Lives
Imagined fire
That neither
Burns
Nor cuts
The icy whole inside
Their heart of shattered lies

The Silent Reflection

Absence and numbness
The greatest divide
Body and soul
So useless beside
The regular rhythm
In darkness to hide
The perfect reflection
Yet hollow inside
The mirrors silent weeping
Washed out by the tide
Question and answer
Alone side by side
A wall of denial
Let’s terror decide
That both spirit and matter
Have long ago died
